Erling Haaland has had a dish named in his honour at a Manchester Chinese restaurant after revealing his post-match refuelling routine.

The Manchester City striker, 25, visited Happy Seasons in the city’s Chinatown after his side’s 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund last Wednesday, revealing his go-to combo of roasted meat for ‘Matchday +1’.

Having celebrated the star’s visit following that win, the resturant has now joked that his order, featuring duck and two types of pork, has now been dubbed the ‘Haaland Special’ in the wake of his goalscoring contribution in the 3-0 trouncing of Liverpool on Sunday.

Restaurant workers, who claim to be ‘big City fans’, reflected that their ‘jaws dropped’ when the Norwegian walked through the door and placed his order.

An Instagram post from the resturant on Tuesday showed the mouth-watering dish and accompanied the image with the post: ‘Haaland did order the roasted duck and crispy belly pork. So, as funny as it sounds, if you ask for ‘The Haaland Special,’ you’ll get exactly what he ordered – lol.

‘Our staff are loving the banter, so come on through!’

The image quickly went viral among City supporters and food fans alike. One fan joked on social media: ‘I’ll take the Haaland and rice,’ while another posted: ‘I want to try the Haaland special.’

Haaland has already scored 22 goals this season in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side.

The forward has given fans regular glimpses of his off-field habits in recent months, from his famous ice baths in eight-degree temperatures to playful videos on his YouTube channel.

Earlier this month, he shared footage of himself plunging into freezing water while holding his Player of the Match trophy after scoring twice against Bournemouth.

Haaland, who became a father earlier this year, also made headlines for his Halloween antics when he dressed as The Joker in a prank video filmed with his partner Isabel Haugseng Johansen.
