Peter Magyar appeared to spot his outgoing rival Viktor Orban on a balcony as he met the country’s president following his election victory.

Hungary’s incoming prime minister posted the video to social media, showing him visiting Budapest’s Sandor Palace on Wednesday (15 April).

The caption said the president had been showing the election winner around his office and balcony when they spotted Orban on an adjacent balcony.

Magyar described the moment as “absolute cinema” in the 18-second clip.

Orban is set to leave office in May after 16 years in power.
