Avid Manchester United supporter and darts sensation Luke Littler admitted that he rather see his favourite Super League side Warrington Wolves win the league than the Red Devils.
The 18-year-old was given a special honour by his hometown club, who renamed their ground after him to celebrate his achievement becoming the youngest World Darts Champion earlier this year.
Littler, who is a season-ticket holder at what is normally the Halliwell Jones Stadium, met Warrington’s players in the dressing room, paraded his Sid Waddell Trophy and was afforded a lap of honour.
During the half-time of fixture, Littler was asked which of his favourite north west clubs he’d prefer to win their respective league titles. Sure to disappoint at least fanbase, the teenager opted for the rugby league side.
‘Ah, that’s so tough,’ he said. ‘I’ve seen Sir Alex Ferguson’s last league title, so I’d have to say Wire winning the league.’
Warrington lived up to the occasion by then securing a hard-fought 18-12 win of their own over Catalans Dragons in their first Super League home match of the new season.

The season-ticket holder admitted that he’s prefer to see Warrington win the Super League than Manchester United the Premier League

The Red Devils currently sit 15th in the Premier League with just 29 points from 25 matches
The same cannot be said for the Red Devils, currently languishing in 15th place in the Premier League, with just 19 points from their first 25 fixtures.
Ahead of their trip to Goodison Park to face Everton, Ruben Amorim admitted that former United boss David Moyes is doing a better job at reviving the Toffees than he has managed at Old Trafford.
‘David Moyes is doing a better job than me, it’s quite simple,’ said Amorim. ‘We have to give merit to the players of Everton and especially to the coach of Everton, and we need to do the same.
‘It’s an amazing job by David Moyes to recover the team. You feel the confidence and belief are there.
‘Sometimes it’s frustrating when you hear out loud “four wins in 14 games for Manchester United”. You get really angry.’
