The party began outside the stadium before full-time had even been called
When Liverpool last secured a Premier League title – five years ago – the scenes of jubilation were muted by lockdown restrictions.
But on Sunday there was no holding back, after Arne Slot’s men battered Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield to secure the club’s 20th league championship.
Victory had felt inevitable for months, but there had been a collective desire among many fans not to assume the title was a certainty, in light of previous disappointments.
By full-time, however, all that residual anxiety was a distant memory as thousands of jubilant fans surrounded the stadium and took to the streets across the city.
Here is a selection of photographs documenting an iconic day – and night – for the red half of the city.
