Lionel Messi left red-faced as rare blunder costs Inter Miami a goal… before he makes up for it perfectly

Lionel Messi’s rare blunder in the opening minutes of Inter Miami’s game against CF Montreal left him red-faced. The living legend found a way, as he usually does, to make up for it by the game’s final whistle.

Messi made a back pass that hit Montreal striker Prince Owusu in stride, which he slotted home for the game’s opening goal in the second minute.

The Argentine legend put his head down for a few moments before showing why, even after a critical error, he can still show why he is a living legend.

Inter Miami tied the game in the 33rd minute on a Tadeo Allende strike before Messi got in on the scoring himself.

Messi put the Talons up 2-1 in the 40th minute, before finding the back of the net again in the 62nd to cap off the dominant 4-1 win for Inter Miami.

Hardly anyone held that second-minute blunder against Messi after the game went final.

Messi just wrapped up Club World Cup duty with Inter Miami, helping the Talons become the only American team to advance out of the group stage.

That will be the last high-profile international tournament he plays in until next summer’s World Cup, which will also take place mainly in the United States as Argentina looks to defend its title.

Messi is under contract with Inter Miami through the end of the MLS season, with a move for the living legend still on the table for the 38-year-old.

However, Messi is still moving around the pitch with more ease than most will ever see.

In 14 league matches this season, Messi has 12 goals and six assists for Inter Miami, including his brace on Saturday night.
