Sir Lewis Hamilton endured a ‘a scary few hours’ on Wednesday as the health of his beloved dog Roscoe appeared to worsen.
The seven-time Drivers’ Championship winner, who has struggled for consistency this season, has a very close bond with his English Bulldog pet.
Roscoe has often accompanied Hamilton on his travels across the globe over the years, with the driver even seen walking the adorable pet in the paddock on race weekends.
However in recent months Roscoe, who’s racked up more than a million Instagram followers, has suffered with ill-health.
Back in April it was revealed that the mutt had been struck down with pneumonia, with Roscoe’s trainer Kirstin McMillian writing: ‘Roscoe, because I know you are going to ask, he is going to his vet today. This is a vet that practices veterinary medicine where she combines Eastern and Western, that’s an integrative pet practice.
‘So she’s a real vet, she went to Davis and everything, but she went for a few years of additional training in holistic methods, Chinese medicine, acupuncture and things like that. What she is going to do with him today is a high-dose Vitamin C IV drop and this is supportive care.

However in recent months the pet’s been struck down with ill-health. On Wednesday Hamilton admitted it’s been a ‘scary few hours’ in an Instagram post
‘This is in addition to the strong antibiotics that he is correctly on for his pneumonia.’
But now some five months later, Roscoe doesn’t seem to have made a full recovery.
The Ferrari driver shared a concerning update with fans on Wednesday showing Roscoe wrapped up in a blanket at a veterinary clinic.
‘It’s been a scary few hours, everyone please keep Roscoe in your thoughts.’
It’s currently unclear whether the dog is still suffering with pneumonia.
Roscoe’s ill-health comes amid a difficult season for Hamilton since making the switch to Ferrari from Mercedes.
The Englishman currently sits sixth in the Drivers’ Championship and without a win for the Prancing Horse after finishing eighth in Azerbaijan.
He’s often cut a frustrated figure in recent months, and that was no different after practice in Baku.

Hamilton has endured a difficult period of form since moving to Ferrari from Mercedes
Having qualified in just 12th, the 40-year-old admitted he was ‘so disappointed’ with his performance.
‘Yesterday the car was feeling good, today there was some direction that we ended up going which on paper looked like it was the best place for us to be,’ he said.
‘And ultimately, our pace had been good, we’d been progressing, I was feeling really on it, didn’t make any mistakes, you didn’t see me go down any exit roads, it was just that we didn’t have the right tyre on at the end – and it’s tough.
‘Everyone ahead of me basically had the medium tyre on, but I lost a medium tyre in FP2 and due to our run plan, and that put me on the back foot.’
Hamilton has had a mixed return to the grid since the summer break, having to retire from the Dutch Grand Prix before finishing sixth at Monza.
