Jeremie Frimpong will become Arne Slot’s first signing of the summer once Liverpool activate his £29.5million clause.
The Bayer Leverkusen right wing-back has made it clear he wants to join Liverpool and link up with his Netherlands international teammates Ryan Gravenberch, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo.
He has agreed a five-year contract and is set for a medical over the coming days.
Slot knows Frimpong well and Liverpool have been preparing to meet his clause for some time with Trent Alexander-Arnold heading for Real Madrid.
Liverpool, who have handed a new contract to right-back Conor Bradley tying him to the club until 2029, remain keen Bournemouth left back Milos Kerkez and a centre back after missing out on his club mate Dean Huijsen who is joining Real Madrid for £50million.
Liverpool also want to add a centre forward with Darwin Nunez expected to leave.
