  • Manchester United earned a comfortable victory at the King Power Stadium
  • Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes were all on target

Manchester United cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Leicester City at the end of a positive week which also saw them progress in the Europa League.

Rasmus Hojlund broke his lengthy 21-game scoring drought for the Red Devils after tucking the opening goal of the night into Mads Hermansen’s far corner.

United were handed another injury blow after Ayden Heaven was forced off, but shortly after Alejandro Garnacho doubled their lead, bringing an end to his own duck.

There was still time for Bruno Fernandes to thump home magnificently after Diogo Dalot’s low cross, adding to his hat-trick against Real Sociedad on Thursday.

The result saw United move up to 13th, leapfrogging Tottenham in the process.

Mail Sport‘s TOM COLLOMOSSE was at the King Power to rate their players.

Manchester United (3-4-2-1)

ANDRE ONANA 6.5

A little uncertain parrying an early effort from Jamie Vardy and otherwise had little to do beyond an impressive leg save from Vardy when the match was long since settled.

MATTHIJS DE LIGT 6.5

Moved to the right of a back three, he performed his task well enough but hardly stood out – not that he needed to until his goal-saving block to deny Facundo Buonanotte.

VICTOR LINDELOF 6

Restored to the starting XI with Patrick Dorgu still suspended for league games, he lacks pace and mobility but his experience can get him through games like these.

AYDEN HEAVEN 7

Everyone loves a left-footed centre back these days, particularly when they are as technically sound, mobile and athletic as Heaven. A promising display sadly cut short when he was carried off on a stretcher early in the second half.

NOUSSAIR MAZRAOUI 6

Sliding back over to right wing-back, Victor Kristiansen did little to trouble the Moroccan, and neither did Bilal El Khannouss in a floating role. Finished the game at left centre back.

BRUNO FERNANDES 7.5

His pass for Hojlund’s goal should have been cut out by Boubakary Soumare yet it was not, so the assist goes to Fernandes, who then rounded things off with a late strike. Always makes his mark.

MANUEL UGARTE 6.5

Vital work to track the run of Wilfred Ndidi and stop him latching on to a far-post cross that might have given Leicester an equaliser.

DIOGO DALOT 6

Offered little as an attacking force but going the other way, he kept James Justin at bay without ever really needing to stretch himself. Finished the game on the right and teed up Fernandes for the third.

ALEJANDRO GARNACHO 6.5

Playing at the top-right of United’s midfield box, too often the Argentine found himself with his back to goal. More dangerous after the break, scoring one and seeing another ruled out.

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN 6

Before Hojlund’s opener, he came closest to scoring with a cross/shot that beat his fellow Dane Mads Hermansen and bounced back off the post.

RASMUS HOJLUND 6

For a man who has struggled for form and confidence all season, this was a very tidy finish – though he must wish he could play against this Leicester side more often.

TOBY COLLYER 6

Replacing the injured Heaven early in the second half, he was sent to right wing-back at first and then ended the game in central midfield.
