Leeds’ promotion back to the Premier League has been greeted with raucous celebrations, but one star has been filmed leading fans in a chant aimed at the manager of one of their biggest rivals.
The Whites secured their return to the top-flight on Monday after Sheffield United failed to beat Burnley and Leeds smashed Stoke City 6-0, leaving the Blades eight points adrift with two to play.
In beating Sheffield United, Burnley too secured their promotion, leaving the Blades to hash it out in the play-offs if they are to join them.
However, if just missing out on promotion wasn’t enough, Leeds star Patrick Bamford has rubbed a little bit of salt in the wound, leading fans in a chant about Blades boss Chris Wilder.
The two clubs share a natural rivalry as two of the biggest teams in Yorkshire, and a promotion race back in 2018-19 saw the tensions rise even more after Wilder hit out at ‘muppets from Leeds’ who had to settle for the play-offs with the Blades securing their own automatic promotion.
But now with their fortunes reversed, Bamford was filmed approaching a crowd of fans with a finger to his lips before starting off the chanting along with a team-mate, whose identity remains unclear.

Once the crowd had quietened down, Bamford shouted: ‘Du, du du…’
To which the supporters joyfully responded: ‘Wilder is a w****r!’ with the chant repeating a number of times.
Bamford can be seen smiling throughout and looks to be mouthing along with the lyrics initially.
Back in 2018-19, Wilder’s Sheffield United put together a brilliant final push to earn automatic promotion, despite Leeds players looking to put pressure on the Blades.
‘We’ve had one defeat in 13 and I’ve got muppets from Leeds talking about the pressure being on us,’ said Wilder at the time.
‘[Patrick] Bamford and [Adam] Forshaw and a couple of others saying “it’s over to you” and this, that and the other.
‘They got beat seven times since Christmas. We’ve been beaten once.
‘We’ve set it up from Christmas to be in the race and we’ve steamrolled it.

The Leeds players joined the fans outside Elland Road to celebrate the success on Monday

Leeds are a side that many football fans think should be regulars in the Premier League

Leeds supporters arrived in their numbers outside Elland Road with flares and smiles aplenty
‘After the international break, two points a game. That’s promotion form right the way through in the pressure part of the season.
‘Listen, don’t mention anything about bottle and b******s or about us dipping out.’
This year, though, it is Leeds turn to enjoy the moment, and their victory procession will continue with the visit of Bristol City on Monday before a trip to Plymouth Argyle on May 3.
While they have already secured promotion there is still the small matter of deciding which of them and Burnley goes up as champions with another piece of silverware to add to the cabinet.
Burnley, meanwhile, travel to QPR on Monday before hosting Millwall the following week.
After partying deep into the night, the celebrations continued into the following day, with players spotted enjoying some time out at a bar in Wetherby – Bar Three – 24 hours on.
A social media post from the bar showed a group of stars, including Dan James, Jayden Bogle, Joe Rodon and Joe Rothwell sat at a table inside the venue, all seemingly enjoying soft drinks.
The post was captioned: ‘Promotion party vibes still going strong… Few familiar faces spotted at Bar Three today. Leeds are back!’
