George Balderson has signed a new contract to stay with Lancashire until the end of the 2028 season.

The seam bowling all-rounder has become an established first-team player in all formats since making his debut in 2020.

Balderson has taken 142 wickets in 61 first-class matches at an average of 32.21 while scoring two centuries and 12 fifties with a batting average of 28.15.

The 25-year-old was ever-present in the Championship for Lancashire last season and finished as their leading wicket-taker with 40, and in his Red Rose career, he has opened both the batting and the bowling.

“George’s progress over the last few years has been clear to see, not just in his performances but in how he goes about his cricket and training day to day,” said, external Lancashire head coach Steven Croft.

“George gives us real flexibility as an all-rounder, which is something every side values,”

“He’s earned the trust of the group and the management to stand up and deliver during important moments.”

Lancashire begin the new Championship season in Division Two, away to Northamptonshire on 3 April.
