Luka Doncic is doing all he can to settle in to Los Angeles – and that includes spending $25million on a brand new mansion.

The Lakers star has reportedly forked out an eight-figure sum for the stunning property on Manhattan Beach – which was formerly owned by Maria Sharapova.

However, it wasn’t just owned by her. It was built by her. The five-time Grand Slam singles champion constructed the custom designed property back in 2015.

However, reports emerged in July that Sharapova and her fiance, Alexander Gilkes, were looking to sell the home and, thus, opened the door for Slovenian star Doncic.

The stunning three-story property sits upon a quarter-acre lot in the Hill Section, which is known for it’s ocean views and impressive range of new build homes.

The mansion boasts five bedrooms, a two-lane bowling alley, an expansive pool and an alfresco entertaining area.

The home has no shortage of warmth and soul, with the design allowing for plenty of sunshine to flood inside the hallways and rooms of the mansion.

Meanwhile, disappearing glass walls extend the open kitchen onto the property’s outdoor deck – which features a built-in barbecue center and outdoor fireplace.

When talking about her design plans for the property, Sharapova previously said: ‘I was obsessed with the process of making this home.

‘I’d jump off a plane from a tournament and go straight to the work site or to the architect’s office or to a kitchen manufacturer. This was my project.

‘I was inspired by Japanese architecture and minimalist aesthetics. I didn’t grow up with lots of stuff around. For me, uncluttered means healthy.

‘I kept telling everyone that I want this to be the best house they’ve ever done. I tried to push their vision because I believe in all of them and want to see them shine.

‘I’ve traveled all over the world and enjoyed lots of incredible spaces. But my home is my absolute favorite. I think that’s the way it should be.’

Records show Sharapova, 38, bought the property in August 2012 for $4.1 million.

Doncic’s decision to buy the property comes shortly after he signed a three-year, $165million maximum contract extension with the team.

The megadeal secures his future with the team while also casting doubt on the path forward beyond this season for teammate and living legend LeBron James.

James is set to make $52.6million this season, with him becoming a free agent in 2026, likely not demanding maximum-contract money.

Los Angeles has signaled with the move that Doncic will be the focal point of the franchise moving forward.

Doncic, 26, has more than a decade left in the NBA , while James will turn 41 in December and is entering his record-breaking 23rd league season.
