Samantha Busch received a foreboding message from a fortune teller on her popular podcast just six months before the tragic sudden death of her husband, NASCAR hero Kyle.
The father-of-two was rushed to hospital in Charlotte on Wednesday after being found unresponsive in a driving simulator, before his death was announced Thursday. A cause has not yet been given but Busch, who was 41, said he had been struggling with a ‘significant cough’ in the weeks before he passed away.
As the NASCAR world has been plunged into mourning, fans have returned to a short clip shared by wife Samantha from her podcast ‘Certified Oversharer’ in a November 2025 episode.
Busch posted the video on her own Instagram, explaining how her late grandmother had seemingly reached out to her through an ‘angel reading’ with a fortune teller, commending her for being brave.
‘Usually I can tell the ones that come up right away, I felt that very strongly with grandmother energy,’ the fortune teller told Busch on her podcast. ‘I felt that right away.
‘She is saying to you like, just you being brave. She’s noting how brave you are and she is validating that. Like, she is very much like “that is my girl”.’

Samantha seemed choked up by the message, saying: ‘Well, shoot. Now I am going to cry.’
The fortune teller continued: ‘She is so deeply proud of you. When did she pass, 2009? So she didn’t meet the two kids here. She did on the other side, 100%. I feel like she was definitely helping with that journey.’
Samantha added as a caption to the footage: ‘This week, I had my first-ever angel reading… and I was not prepared for what happened.
‘My grandmas came through with messages that felt so specific, comforting, and full of love – little things only they would know. It opened the door for a conversation about the signs I’ve received throughout my life… and it made me brave enough to share something I’ve kept private for a long time.
‘I hope we can all take a little time to quiet the noise, slow down, and reconnect with ourselves more.’
Now, with fans mourning Busch’s death and social media awash with messages of support to the grieving family, some unnearthed that same clip again and interpreted a deeper meaning than anyone could have known at the time.
‘Kyle Busch’s wife Samantha had a tarot reading done to communicate with the dead in late 2025,’ the fan wrote, adding: ‘Her deceased grandmother said “she would need to be brave.”’
‘Wow. crazy stuff man,’ one fan wrote back, while another commented: ‘Wow… so sad what occurred today.’
Busch had been feeling unwell in the weeks before his shocking death on Thursday
The Busch family celebrated Brexton’s 11th birthday just three days before Kyle’s passing
Busch’s hospitalization came less than two weeks after he made a mid-race request for medical aid.
During a Cup Series race on May 10 at Watkins Glen, Busch radioed in to his crew requesting medical aid from Dr Bill Heisel and a ‘shot’ after the race.
According to the TV broadcast, Busch had been struggling with a sinus cold that was exacerbated by the intense G-forces and elevation changes at the Upstate New York road course. Busch continued to race and finished eighth.
Brushing off the incident, Busch went on to claim his record fifth NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series trophy days later on May 15.
Following his death, which came six days after the victory, a heartbreaking clip of Busch’s post-race interview resurfaced.
After earning his 69th career Trucks Series race win with the triumph at Dover, Busch was asked how many races he wanted to win in his career before he stops racing.
‘You take whatever you can get, man,’ Busch said. ‘You never know when the last one is going to be, so cherish them all – trust me.’
