Katherine Parkinson has said that “every moment is a pinch-me experience” as she opened up on her new role of Molly Weasley in the upcoming Harry Potter HBO series.

Speaking to The Independent at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards on Tuesday (24 March), the actor said that it was “a lovely feeling” to see the world she had imagined in the books come to life in front of her.

“It’s a testament to the writing,” Parkinson added.

The Bafta winner, known for the likes of The IT Crowd and Rivals, is taking over the role of Ron Weasley’s mother from Julie Walters, who played the character for ten years across the eight Warner Bros. films adapted from the book series written by JK Rowling.
