The Kansas City Chiefs have pulled off a major coup and signed Super Bowl LX MVP running back Kenneth Walker III, according to multiple reports.
According to insider Jordan Schultz, Walker agreed to a three-year, $43.05million deal which could grow to $45m and includes $28.7m in guaranteed money.
That makes Walker the third-highest paid running back in the league by total contract value – behind only Green Bay Packers rusher Josh Jacobs at $48m and Buffalo Bills star James Cook at $46m and ahead of Indianapolis Colts bell cow Jonathan Taylor at $42m.
Additionally, the $28.7m in guaranteed money is the third most in the league behind Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley ($36m) and Las Vegas Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty ($35.895m) – but ahead of Baltimore Ravens bruiser Derrick Henry ($25m).
Walker is coming off an amazing season with the Seattle Seahawks that ended in the franchise’s second Super Bowl title.
In the big game, Walker ran for 135 yards on 27 carries to establish himself as the title match’s top player.

During the regular season, Walker finished 16th in the regular season in rushing yards with 1,027 and five touchdowns across 17 games.
Walker himself announced the move mere moments after each of the major NFL insiders broke the news.
He shared an edit of himself in a Chiefs jersey with the caption ‘Chiefs Kingdom’ as the graphic confirmed that both sides have ‘agreed to terms’.
The Michigan State product was selected 41st overall by Seattle in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
After struggling through injuries in 2024, he had a bounce back year in 2025 – but still came short of the lofty highs he hit in his rookie campaign when he rushed for 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns.

The addition of Walker is a welcome sign for the Chiefs who are also expected to have Travis Kelce back in the fold.
The tight end had been plunged into deliberation over his NFL future once again this offseason amid speculation that he could retire or even leave Kansas City altogether.
However, the 36-year-old is staying loyal to the Chiefs, warning any rivals that may have been interested in acquiring him in free agency that he intends to return to Kansas City for the 2026 season, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
It also comes after reports indicate that injured Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn ACL and could be ready for Week 1 of the season.
Later in the day, the New Orleans Saints signed running back Travis Etienne to a four-year, $52million deal to make him the highest paid rusher in the NFL by total contract value.
