The Tennessee Titans are set to interview Kansas City Chiefs coordinators Steve Spagnuolo and Matt Nagy for their head coaching vacancy, according to reports.

After their dismal 1-5 start, the Titans parted company with head coach Brian Callahan back in October, with Mike McCoy taking interim charge of the team for the remainder of the season.

And as the NFL’s infamous ‘Black Monday’ madness begins, they are wasting no time in lining up Callahan’s permanent successor after requesting interviews with four potential candidates.

Multiple reports suggest two of them are highly-rated Chiefs offensive coordinator Nagy, who has just wrapped up his third season in the role, and legendary defensive coordinator Spagnuolo.

Indianapolis Colts DC Lou Anarumo and Denver Broncos DC Vance Joseph are believed to be the other interviews Tennessee has requested.

Spagnuolo, who is one of the most successful coordinators in NFL history, has spent the last seven seasons in Kansas City after previous spells with the New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints, St. Louis Rams and Philadelphia Eagles.

The 66-year-old started his coaching career with Chiefs head coach Andy Reid in Philadelphia, where they helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl in 2005.

Since reuniting with Reid in Kansas City, the pair have clinched three of the last six Super Bowls and made it to the NFL’s end-of-season showpiece on five occasions.

As for Nagy, he stepped up from his position as senior assistant and quarterbacks coach to become the Chiefs’ offensive coordinator in 2023, after serving in the former role for one season.

The 47-year-old is in his second stint with the team after previously spending time as their quarterbacks coach (2013-15) and offensive coordinator (2016-17) before a stint as Chicago Bears head coach from 2018-21.

Nagy’s first job in the NFL came with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he worked his way up from coaching intern to offensive quality control coach.

Joseph, meanwhile, has just finished his third season as DC in Denver, who enter the NFL playoffs as the AFC’s No 1 seed after going 14-3. The 53-year-old previously enjoyed spells with the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers, while even spending a year as Broncos head coach from 2017-18.

Anarumo, 59, has only spent one season as Colts DC after previous stints with the Bengals, Giants, Dolphins and various college jobs.
