The Scottish Parliament has confirmed the date of a by-election in the seat held by SNP minister Chrstina McKelvie, who died last month.
The ballot in the Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse constituency will be held on 5 June.
McKelvie, the MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse, had been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer.
Scottish Parliament Presiding Officer Alison Johnstone announced the date in a letter to the chief executive of South Lanarkshire Council.
It will be the first Holyrood by-election since 2019.
The winner of the contest will only be in place for about nine months, with Scottish Parliament elections scheduled for May next year.
McKelvie had been MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse since May 2011, having initially been elected as a Central Scotland representative in 2007.
She had been a minister since 2018, latterly holding the drugs and alcohol brief.
