Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan-Chase, warned Labour against becoming “hostile to banks again” amid Keir Starmer’s mounting leadership troubles.

He threatened to reconsider a $3bn investment in a new Canary Wharf skyscraper if the Labour party shifted towards the left.

The warning comes as nearly 100 MPs have called for Sir Keir Starmer to resign or set a timetable for his departure, following disastrous local election results and four ministerial resignations.

Dimon praised Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves but stated he would review the investment if Labour’s policies became too detrimental to the banking sector.

The $3bn project, agreed in November last year, involves constructing a 3 million sq ft building to accommodate 12,000 employees.
