Josh Allen makes major change to protect his nose in practice after Bills star was left bloodied in Jets win

Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen has undertaken new measures to protect his nose after being left bloodied during their win over the New York Jets on Sunday.

The reigning NFL MVP suffered the gruesome injury while trying to run for a first down in his own territory, when Jowon Briggs took him down and his face slammed into teammate O’Cyrus Torrence.

Allen managed to get to his feet but ran straight to the sideline, where he was immediately attended to by medics and Mitch Trubisky replaced him in the game.

Now, just two days on from the nasty injury, Allen returned to the field and sported a brand new accessory to help prevent any further damage.

The quarterback was seen wearing a visor during the Bills’ practice session on Tuesday, as they step up preparations for Thursday’s game against the Dolphins.

Some fans were to quick to point out that it wasn’t the first time Allen has worn a visor – having previously worn the item a number of times during his career.

There was plenty of concern among Bills fans when Allen went down injured against the Jets, with some fearing that it could have kept him sidelined for a while.

However, on Monday, Bills head coach Sean McDermott played down the incident and even cracked joke that the nose still ‘looks good’.

Speaking with reporters, he said: ‘Yeah his nose didn’t get any bigger, I don’t think. I think it’s always looked good to me, I think it still looks good, so I think we should be in a good spot.’

Meanwhile, Allen himself said: ‘I don’t know what hit me. It was a knee, it was a hand, it was somebody. It just kind of came down right on the bridge of my nose and just started leaking (blood).’

Despite Allen’s injury, the Bills were able to secure the dominant 30-10 win over the Jets and, thus, extended their record to 2-0 for the season.

The reigning NFL MVP didn’t register a rushing touchdown or a touchdown pass but, thankfully for Bills fans, he didn’t need to.

After their miracle comeback against the Ravens a week prior, James Cook led the way as Buffalo strolled to victory.
