Mike Johnson refused to give a specific example of election fraud that the SAVE America Act would prevent.

The bill would require voters to provide proof of citizenship when they register and to present approved identification when they go to the polls.

Donald Trump claims that passage of the bill will “guarantee the midterms” for his Republican Party in November.

When asked on Tuesday (17 March) if he could give one example of fraud conducted in a previous election that the SAVE America Act would stop, Mr Johnson declined to answer.

“Look, we’re not gonna litigate all that,” he replied.
