Actor and comedian Johnny Vegas has told how the long-running comedy Ideal is “still the show I’m most proud of” ahead of a theatre performance celebrating its 20th anniversary.
It will come to Salford’s Lowry theatre on 8 September as a stage show focused on the life of a small-time Mancunian drug dealer after running for seven series on the screen since 2005.
Vegas, who is from St Helens, Merseyside, said fans “come up and they’ll still quote the show to me”.
He told Radio Manchester: “It is lovely to have that job you can’t wait to get back to.”
