Travis Scott has been condemned over an incident in which he and his team seemingly interrupted a DJ’s set after reportedly showing up late for his own performance.
Producer and DJ John Summit was playing Lilly’s Club in Monte Carlo for the F1 after party on Sunday (7 June), when Scott appeared to turn up and clamber over the DJ decks mid-set.
“Monaco that was insane last night,” Summit wrote in an Instagram story posted on Monday.
“Last night was out of control. My show got shut down due to another artist showing up late and forcing his way onto the stage. Love you all that were there to dance and have a good time.”
Summit did not name the offending artist but he featured Scott’s track “Topia Twins” in his post.
In another story, showing him DJ-ing with the crowd around him dancing to his track “Go Back” with Sub Focus and Julia Church, he wrote: “I wanna go back (on stage to finish my performance).”
Summit also thanked his production director Erik Fink for “holding it down during the chaos”.
In another clip, Fink appears to address a member of security as people push to the front where Summit was still at the decks, telling the man: “It’s our set, it’s your fault,” then, “Don’t f***ing touch me like that.”
The Independent has contacted representatives for Scott and Summit for comment.
Summit next travelled to Ibiza, where he has a Monday night residency at the island’s [UNVRS] club through to late July.
Fink also commented on the incident from his own Instagram account, in which he celebrated the fact that Scott would not be present at the Ibiza show.
“We’re back in Ibiza… experts only on a Monday night,” he said. “SG Lewis and of course the man John Summit… and yeah, special highlight tonight, no f***ing Travis Scott. It’s lit, he won’t be here.”
Fans commenting on the duo’s posts criticised Scott for what they dubbed “loser energy”.

“Just outright disrespectful towards you,” one fan wrote to Summit.
“This is so rude and insane,” another fan wrote on a TikTok clip of the moment Scott climbed onstage. “Why did the club owner/promoter allow this to happen?”
“This is so disrespectful are you kidding me,” another viewer said.
Scott angered fans in Turkey earlier this month after reportedly turning up 90 minutes late for what was billed as a “DJ set and mic” from the Houston-born rapper.
However, fans claimed that he turned up to the Istanbul show after 90 minutes and left after just 20 minutes at the decks, despite being the headliner.
Scott posted a message to his Instagram in response, France 24 reported, writing: “I’m only came to host a party for a friend’s BIG day.”
He added that he “can’t wait to actually come back and perform forreal [sic].”
