Leigh Leopards have signed Tonga prop Joe Ofahengaue until 2028.
The former Queensland State of Origin player has been picked up on a three-and-a-half-year deal after being granted an early release from his contract by Parramatta Eels after playing in the opening six rounds of the NRL.
The New Zealand-born player has also played for Brisbane Broncos and Wests Tigers in a 10-year career.
The 29-year-old joins a Leigh squad which has reached the play-offs in the two seasons since they were promoted to Super League, and are fifth this year after winning four of their seven games.
Head coach Adrian Lam said Ofahengaue would add punch up front to the Leopards.
“Joe is a player that I have watched and admired for a very long time,” he told the club website., external

“Joe is a big body, who is explosive in both attack and defence, and is a player who will fit into our team perfectly.
“He is the exact player that we need to boost our forward pack size and a lead from the front.”
