Fox News star Jesse Watters reacted to the killing of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk by insisting that “they are at war with us” before asking his colleagues and viewers, “What are we going to do about it?” and “how much political violence” they will tolerate.

Kirk was shot dead on Wednesday afternoon during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. Sitting on an outdoor stage during a question-and-answer session with students, the Turning Point USA founder was struck in the neck by a bullet, sending the large crowd into a panic.

Hours later, the FBI announced that a suspect had been taken into custody, although no further details were given. The campus was closed and classes have been canceled. Kirk, 31, is survived by his wife and two children.

The shocking assassination of the influential conservative pundit prompted heartfelt tributes and condemnations of political violence from commentators and politicians across the political aisle, while President Donald Trump ordered flags to be lowered to half-mast until Sunday evening in honor of Kirk.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” Trump stated on Truth Social. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

During Wednesday’s broadcast of Fox News’ The Five, however, Watters warned those on the left that “everybody’s accountable” and that he would be watching them closely.

“We are sick. We are sad. We are angry. And we are resolute,” he proclaimed. “And we are going to avenge Charlie’s death in the way that Charlie wanted to be avenged.”

Calling Kirk a “beautiful boy” who “touched an entire generation of Americans” and “made them patriots,” Watters went on to claim that the MAGA youth activist was “not a controversial person” and “not a polarizing guy” before seemingly calling for action in response to the shooting.

“This hits differently because Charlie was one of us,” he stated, before bringing up the attempted assassination of Trump and other politically motivated violence.

“And Trump gets hit in the ear. Charlie gets shot dead. They came after [Brett] Kavanaugh with a rifle to his neighborhood, they went after [Elon] Musk’s cars, they just shot two Jews outside the embassy,” Watters exclaimed. “Think about it. [Steve] Scalise got shot, barely survived. It’s happening! The trans shooters. We’ve got riots in L.A. They are at war with us!”

He continued: “Whether we want to accept it or not, they are at war with us. And what are we going to do about it? How much political violence are we going to tolerate? And that’s the question we are just going to have to ask ourselves.”

Stating that “Charlie would want us to put as much pressure on these people as possible,” Watters said that “this is unacceptable and has to stop and it has to stop now,” all while declaring that he would be taking into account the reactions of other media figures and politicians.

“Everybody’s accountable. And we’re watching what they are saying on television and who is saying what. The politicians, the media, and all these rats out there! This can never happen again. It ends now,” the Fox star seethed.

“This is a turning point,” he concluded. “And we know which direction we are going.”
