Jeremy Clarkson said Clarkson’s Farm fans could expect some “sombre news”, ahead of him revealing his prostate cancer diagnosis on the show on Tuesday (16 June).
In the final two episodes of the Amazon Prime show, the 66-year-old told co-stars Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper the cancer was aggressive, but it had been caught at a “really early” stage.
Later in the episode, he is seen speaking from a hospital bed, saying some of the treatment had “gone awry” and that he will be “here for a little while”.
In an Instagram video posted on Tuesday (16 June), hours before the episodes dropped, Clarkson said: “We ordinarily try to keep the show bucolic and charming and cheerful. But the final two episodes… they’re none of those things.”
