Jeremy Clarkson has hit out at Chris Packham, branding the naturalist “endlessly angry” after comments he made about Clarkson’s Farm.

Packham was seen watching an episode of the hit Amazon Video series in the latest episode of Celebrity Gogglebox, where he was less than impressed by the show’s animated opening sequence.

“That’s not what a farm looks like,” he said. “Most farms are horrible monocultures which have been sprayed with deadly chemicals.

“The ground has been pumped full of fertiliser and most of the animals are indoors, in crates, being crushed and kept in the dark.”

Unsurprisingly, the comments haven’t gone down well with Clarkson, who writes in his latest column for The Sun: “The endlessly angry Chris Packham went on Gogglebox this week and erupted in blind fury about the Winnie the Pooh-ish opening credits to my farming programme.”

“Now, of course this kind of stuff plays well in a room full of nose rings and Palestine flags at a vegan activist meeting in Hackney. But he was on a television programme, and it didn’t play well at all. Because it’s b*****ks.”

Clarkson adds that Packham actually visited Diddly Squat in 2012 for a day of “foraging and bird watching”. “If there had been some animals in a crate, being crushed, I’m sure he would have noticed and said something,” he says.

Packham is yet to respond to Clarkson’s comments.

The fifth season of the hugely popular Clarkson’s Farm arrived on Amazon earlier this year, and the series finale saw the former Top Gear presenter reveal his prostate cancer diagnosis.

In the episode, Clarkson shared his health news with his farm colleagues, including an emotional Kaleb Cooper. The star received his diagnosis in summer 2025, but kept it private until the scene aired.

After undergoing a biopsy following a medical check-up, Clarkson was told the cancer was aggressive, but had been caught at a “really early” stage.

A procedure to remove the cancer then went “awry”, Clarkson told viewers from hospital, before adding: “I’m going to be here for a little while. I don’t know what’s going to happen.

“What I wanted to say was if this is all successful, I’ll see you in season six, and if it isn’t, I won’t. Take care, everyone.”

Clarkson has since announced he is in remission, and has been seen filming scenes for series six, which was announced by Amazon Video earlier this year.

The cancer diagnosis came less than two years after the star had a major heart scare. In the opening episode of season five, the 66-year-old revealed doctors had told him he may have been days away from a heart attack after discovering severe coronary artery disease. He then had surgery to insert stents.

“I’m back and not dead,” he told Cooper, adding: “The grim reaper will have to wait. It was f***ing close, though.”
