JD Vance spotlights Charlie Kirk’s behind-the-scenes role in Trump’s 2024 rise during podcast show: Live updates – UK Times

Tyler Robinson, the man accused of fatally shooting Charlie Kirk, reportedly told a group chat on the messaging platform Discord, “It was me.”

In the chat, an account belonging to Robinson declared, “It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this,” on Thursday evening, according to the Washington Post.

A person who was in the group chat provided a copy of the messages to the Washington Post.

Kash Patel’s future at the FBI is reportedly on thin ice as a new co-deputy director is set to come on board at the agency and concerns about his leadership skills are now coming from inside the administration.

Monday marked the swearing-in ceremony of Andrew Bailey, Patel’s new deputy — joining Dan Bongino in that role — at the FBI, which is now under greater scrutiny than ever before.

Speaking to Kirk’s ability to respectfully debate others, Vance said he “actually kind of liked” Tim Walz after the vice presidential debate last year.

“Honestly, you know, because you get in this sort of bunker mentality in the campaign, it’s us as them and I was like, honestly, even though I’m glad that I think I did well, and I certainly don’t want this guy to become Vice President, I actually kind of liked [Walz] afterwards, after 90 minutes of talking with him and Charlie said ‘that’s why I do all these debates,” Vance admitted.

Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino did not shut down theories that other people may have been involved in the assassination of Charlie Kirk, saying the bureau was looking into the possibility that someone aided or abetted the suspected shooter.

Fox News host Bill Hemmer asked Bongino on Monday whether or not it was a “coincidence” that Kirk was answering a question about mass shootings and transgender people when he was struck by a bullet.

“Well, we’re investigating that. I don’t want to say conclusively right now if there was a connection or not,” Bongino told Hemmer.

“It’s not terribly uncommon for him to get questions like that. However, we are looking into that. Any potential connection here, we’re gonna scrub,” Bongino added.

Theories about the assassination of Kirk have run rampant on social media in the days following the fatal shooting.

Speaking about the advent of the second Trump presidency, he told Vance: “[Kirk] was so damn excited. I mean, it just, it really hurts to think about it right now. He was so excited about all of us being here, and we will be talking about every executive order, every new regulation, every new policy plan.

“Charlie would send me messages all the time, just saying, ‘Great work.’ Or ‘here’s a new idea, or here’s what I think will take this to the next level.’ And I took them all to heart.”

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Kirk was the “primary architect” in joining Trump’s team.

“Charlie was probably the primary architect of my unification with President Trump,” Kennedy told Vance on The Charlie Kirk Show on Monday afternoon.

Kennedy announced he would drop out of the presidential race to endorse Trump in August 2024 at an event co-hosted by Turning Point USA event.

“There was all these kind of fireworks and sparklers on the stage when we shook hands, and that was all Charlie’s orchestration,” Kennedy said, recalling the day.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said President Donald Trump is “deeply” hurt by Kirk’s death and felt he played a pivotal role in returning him to the White House.

“You know the President loved Charlie deeply,” Leavitt told Vance on The Charlie Kirk Show. “You know that, Mr. Vice President, and I know that, and I know he deeply is hurt by this loss, because Charlie played an instrumental role in returning the President to the Oval Office.”

JD Vance hailed Charlie Kirk as “the smartest political operative I ever met,” as he hosted “The Charlie Kirk Show” from the White House in honor of the conservative commentator who was shot dead last week.

Various members of the Trump administration have joined Vice President JD Vance on The Charlie Kirk Show this afternoon to remember Kirk’s legacy.

That includes White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, and more.

Though Kirk was not a formal member of the administration, he assisted President Donald Trump in the presidential transition.
