Jason Momoa has revealed that he and his family were forced to evacuate from their Hawaii home as floods batter the island nation.

The actor was one of thousands evacuated due to dangerous conditions which has seen some parts of the state receive 40 to 50 inches of rain in the last 10 days.

The flooding, which has caused over $1 billion in damage, is the worst the island has seen in more than 20 years.

Posting on Instagram to his 16.9 million followers, Momoa said that his family has fled the North Shore after losing power. “We’re safe now, but there’s a lot of people who weren’t, so sending all our love,” he said.
