- Paul beat Tyson in November and has been on the hunt for his next opponent
- He was in talks with Alvarez before the Mexican signed deal with Riyadh Season
- It is expected that Paul will fight twice this year and three more times in 2026
Jake Paul is reportedly nearing a return to boxing following the collapse of his anticipated bout against Canelo Alvarez.
Social media star-turned boxer Paul last fought in November last year, when he defeated Mike Tyson in a bout that saw the 28-year-old refuse to knock out a man 30 years his senior.
He has been linked with various bouts since, from long-term nemesis KSI to former opponent Tommy Fury – the only man to have beaten him – but he came closest to stepping in the ring with Canelo.
In February, it was confirmed that the Mexican superstar had agreed on a four-fight deal with Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Season, with his new deal to include a mega-fight against the former undisputed light-welterweight and welterweight champion Terence Crawford in September.
Previously, it was understood that Alvarez and Paul were close to finalising their crossover fight, but the Mexican will now face William Scull in May instead.
Paul lashed out following the revelation of Canelo’s deal, but it is now reported that he could be set to take on fellow American Gervonta Davis in the near future.
A future opponent of Jake Paul has been teased as he nears a return to the boxing ring

Paul had been in talks to fight Canelo Alvarez before he signed a fight with Riyadh Season

He was ringside in Brooklyn to watch Gervonta Davis take on Lamont Roach last month

Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions partner Nakisa Bidarian said he is looking to fight twice in 2025 and three times next year
‘The reality is we spent a lot of time with Al Hayman and PBC trying to make the Canelo fight happen and we want to be supportive of what they’re doing across the board,’ Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions partner Nakisa Bidarian told The Sun. ‘Gervonta Davis, other than Jake Paul, is the only American pay-per-view box office star.
‘Gervonta has called Jake a clown multiple times and said he could beat him with one hand tied behind his back.
‘So, it’s not like the guys are massive fans of each other, but they also have respect and understand that the two of them are the standalone kind of massive fighters from the US.’
Paul and Bidarian were ringside in Brooklyn last month to watch Davis take on Lamont Roach – a bout that ended in a controversial draw.
Davis took a knee in the ninth round after complaining about having something in his eye, but the referee did not score the incident as a knockdown.
The star has 30 wins from 31 fights, but Paul could face a wait to take him on as he prepares for a rematch with Roach and Paul readies to announce two fights for this year.
Bidarian added: ‘We’re actively working on putting together Jake’s fight for this summer. And we’ll announce it as soon as we’re ready.
‘And then we’re actively working on figuring out Jake’s next fight – call it October to December time frame.
‘So the plan is for Jake to fight twice in 2025 and two to three times in 2026.’
