Jack Grealish has provided an update on his recovery from foot surgery, sharing insights into his rehabilitation through a series of pictures and videos on social media.

The 30-year-old underwent surgery on a stress fracture in his left foot four weeks ago and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

But it appears that the Everton winger, on loan from Manchester City, who remains at the club during his recovery, is in high spirits as he has posted what is known as a ‘dump’ of photos outlining the early stages of his road back from injury.

Grealish posted 12 pictures from the past month to Instagram, stating that he is ‘working hard to be back better and stronger than ever’.

The post showed that the England international initially wore a cast after his operation, but is now sporting a protective boot on a day-to-day basis.

He also uses a knee scooter to help rest his leg during his downtime, as shown with his first snap of the dump.

The rest of the post showed that he has been strengthening his legs in the gym at Finch Farm, while using both ice baths and saunas as key parts of his recovery.

In the post, there was also a video of Grealish doing pull-ups while wearing his protective boot, as well as a picture showcasing his DJ skills during his free time.

Former Manchester City team-mates such as Nathan Ake and Oleksandr Zinchenko both wished Grealish well in the comments, while James Maddison, who is also sidelined until the end of the season, applauded his work ethic.

Grealish hasn’t featured for Everton since their 1-0 win away at his former side, Aston Villa, on January 18.

The winger initially reported discomfort in his left calf to the Toffees medical team. After further investigation from a specialist, he discovered that his injury was more serious in the form of a stress fracture.

After undergoing surgery last month, Grealish wrote: ‘Didn’t want the season to end like this but that’s football, gutted.

‘Surgery done and now all focus on getting back fit. I know for sure I will come back fitter, stronger and better than before.

‘The support I’ve had since coming to this unbelievable club has meant the world to me. The staff, my teammates and especially the fans have been incredible and I absolutely love representing this club.

‘I’ll be backing the lads all the way and doing everything I can to get back as soon as possible. Thank you again for all the love, it means so much. UTFT.’

The season-ending injury extinguished any lingering hopes that Grealish could force his way into Thomas Tuchel’s England squad in time for this summer’s FIFA World Cup.

Following his surgery, Everton boss David Moyes revealed that Grealish was likely to remain at the club for his rehabilitation, rather than return to his parent club, Man City, and the player’s latest update shows that he has been regularly reporting to the Toffees’ training ground.

Everton retain an interest in taking Grealish on a permanent deal this summer, with reports suggesting it would take a £50million bid to force the move.

Grealish has made 22 appearances during his loan spell at Everton this season, scoring twice and providing six assists.
