Super Bowl week is approaching, and the New England Patriots face the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium, the home of the San Francisco 49ers.

For the Patriots, it’s the team’s first chance to lift the Lombardi trophy since Tom Brady left in 2020, with head coach Mike Vrabel having an unprecedented impact in his first season.

As for the Seahawks, they look the team to beat. They last won the Super Bowl in 2014 but head into the NFL’s showpiece game as narrow favorite, led by Sam Darnold and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Both teams are staying around a 45-minute drive outside of the city of San Francisco, only a short distance from the 68,500-seater stadium in Santa Clara.

The Patriots are staying at the Santa Clara Marriott while the Seahawks are based at the San Jose Marriott.

With the preparations for the big game intensifying, the Daily Mail takes you inside the team hotels for the week.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

The Santa Clara Marriott will be where Vrabel, quarterback Drake Maye and the team will be putting the finishing touches to the plan for their shot at glory.

It’s just a five-minute walk to Levi’s, so the Patriots players will be resting up in the shadow of the stadium where they hope to achieve immortality come Sunday, Feb. 8.

It’ll be the first time that Maye has played in the stadium. The Patriots last faced the 49ers in San Francisco in September 2024, when Maye was backing up Jacoby Brisset.

Maye would eventually replace Brisset the following month and since then, the Patriots haven’t really looked back.

The players will spend most of the week traveling from their hotel to the Stanford University campus in Palo Alto, California – a 20-minute drive to their practice facilities for the week.

The Patriots hotel, rated three stars, has everything the team could need for the week.

There’s a ballroom, a gym and a sizeable outdoor pool – but although it’ll be warmer than New England for Super Bowl week, temperatures in the region of 60-70 degrees aren’t optimal for the pool.

The rooms are spacious and the style, according to the hotel website, is ‘with tech-influenced, Silicon Valley–inspired decor’, a tip of the hat to one of the most burgeoning industries in the region.

The cost to stay there depends entirely on your timing. Some nights in later February can cost about $138-a-night. On others, especially leading up to Super Bowl week, rooms start at over $500,

Some of the reviews on the Marriot website might concern Vrabel, though. Only two weeks ago, one guest complained that they couldn’t be given a room that didn’t smell like smoke, while another said they had weak water pressure in their shower.

Another review from a guest a month ago said they had a coackroach in their room. The Marriott responded and sympathized with the guest who complained about the smell of smoke, but they said nothing about the alleged cockroach.

The majority of guest reviews, however, are positive with many praising just how good a spot it is to stay if you are heading to see the 49ers play.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

The Seahawks’ San Jose Marriott base is a 15-minute drive away from the Levi’s Stadium and the team will practice at San Jose State’s base.

Both hotels are assigned by the league but Mike MacDonald, the Seahawks head coach, will be happy enough with his base for the week.

A four-star hotel with a rooftop pool, conference rooms that can be used for team meetings, a gym and even a pool table for any players who might be looking to kill time.

There are also a number of restaurants nearby, walking distance from the hotel lobby.

But like the Patriots’ venue, there might also be a few causes for concern before the players arrive if certain reviews are anything to go by.

One lengthy review from a recent guest complained about the noise around the hotel

One lengthy review from a recent guest complained about the noise around the hotel

One guest, last month, complained about having a noisy room, writing: ‘The crosswalk outside sounded like it was inside the room. The buzzer sounded all night long as if my alarm was going off constantly. The plumbing in the walls sounded like water was going to burst through the wall itself.’

Another guest complained that they were bitten by bugs during their stay and that the issue was met ‘with no concern from the hotel’.

To that, the hotel replied saying the room was insepcted by a third party and no issues were found. The customer who struggled with the noise said they would have moved them to a different room had such a request been made.

Again, the majority of the reviews are extremely positive here and it is highly unlikely that the NFL would allow a team in contention for the Super Bowl to have a bad place to stay. The Marriott hotels have been offered the chance to comment.
