Liam Lawson’s Formula One career has taken a nightmare turn after he was sacked by Red Bull – just two races into the season.
The 23-year-old rookie became the latest victim of Red Bull’s vicious machine, which has churned up and spat out many talented youngsters over the years.
Red Bull pulled the trigger after a tricky start to the season, which saw Lawson record a DNF in Australia, then finish last in both Sprint and normal qualifying in China before coming 12th in the race.
He has swapped places with Yuki Tsunoda at Racing Bulls and will be hungry to prove his worth in F1 after encouraging cameos in the past.
And through it all, he is set to count on the support of those dear to him.
His parents, Jared and Kristy, sold their house to fund his F1 career. Meanwhile, his girlfriend, Hannah St John, has been a regular trackside sidekick since they started dating in October 2022.

Lawson, born in Hastings, New Zealand, began karting at the age of seven. He was snapped up by Red Bull at a young age and has claimed debut victories in virtually every category he’s raced in.
After finishing third in Formula 2 with Carlin in 2022, he was promoted to reserve driver with Red Bull Aplha Tauri, making his F1 debut in 2023 and impressing across various stand-in drives before being promoted for this campaign.
Away from the track, he spends a lot of time with girlfriend Hannah and the two regularly share heart-eyed photographs of them romancing around the world.
Hannah is a pre-medical student and splits her time between her home in California and London, where Lawson is based.
The 22-year-old studies at Arizona State University and regularly shares updates from their personal life with her more than 30,000 Instagram followers.
She reportedly graduated from Corona Del Mar High School in 2021 and will earn her bachelor’s degree this year.
The Instagram model has more than 45,000 followers on Instagram and has a clear passion for the outdoors, sharing images of her skiing in Utah, frolicking on the beach in Abu Dhabi, fine dining around Lake Como, and helicoptering and hiking around New Zealand – often with Lawson.
Understandably, Lawson has a somewhat bigger presence on social media with one million Instagram followers.

Besides that, his adventures with Hannah take centre stage – them boating in Arizona, holding hands by the California coast, and planting kisses on each other.
It also appears that Lawson is a fan of American football and plays the guitar.
Last year, Hannah posted a video on her TikTok account of Lawson strumming and singing before bed. Some fans have even compared him to George Ezra.
Whether he can get a tune out of the Racing Bulls car is another matter, but with the promise he has shown over the years, you wouldn’t put it past him.
