HMDG has confirmed the establishment of an independent Advisory Board, designed to strengthen clinical credibility, ethical standards and governance as the business continues to scale across private healthcare and MSK services.

The move formalises a long-standing approach to external scrutiny. Since its early days, HMDG has relied on experienced clinicians and sector leaders to review concepts, test assumptions and provide challenge before initiatives were launched. The Advisory Board introduces a defined framework to support that role on an ongoing basis.

Founded with a strong clinical ethos, HMDG has consistently embedded healthcare expertise alongside its commercial teams. As the organisation expanded, leadership identified the need for a more structured and independent governance mechanism to reflect its growing scale and responsibility.

The Advisory Board has been created to fulfil several key functions, including reviewing initiatives prior to market release, providing independent challenge to senior leadership and ensuring decisions remain aligned with patient outcomes, ethical practice and clinical integrity.

Jack Chew, a long-standing clinical advisor to HMDG, assisted with assembling the Board, helping to identify individuals with complementary experience across clinical care, leadership, operations and healthcare technology.

Lucy Macdonald joins the Board with experience as both a practising physiotherapist and healthcare entrepreneur. She is Lead Physiotherapist and Founding Director of Restart Physio in Surrey and holds additional non-executive, consultancy and media roles.

Nicola Graham brings a background spanning NHS services, elite sport and private healthcare. After owning and exiting a multidisciplinary clinic, she now operates in fractional and board roles across preventative health, human performance and sports technology, supported by an Executive MBA.

Ove Indergaard adds extensive MSK expertise as Founder and Chief Executive of Indergaard Physiotherapy Ltd. He leads a multi-site clinic group in the north of England and is recognised internationally for his work in Shockwave Therapy education and standards.

Laura Beaven completes the Board. A chiropractor by training, she is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Dyer Street Clinic, where she played a central role in scaling the business into a multidisciplinary clinic with more than 20 employees.

Reflecting on the decision, HMDG CEO Ben Marcilhacy said: “As HMDG has grown, so has its responsibility to the sector. The Advisory Board exists to ensure decisions are challenged, standards remain high, and the business continues to act in a way that is clinically credible and ethically grounded.”

The company has confirmed the Advisory Board will remain a permanent feature of its governance model.
