Hilary Duff has cheekily admitted she intentionally crashed the Freaky Friday premiere of her “childhood nemesis” Lindsay Lohan in 2003.

The former child stars were involved in a well-documented feud in the early 2000s, stemming from a messy love triangle with the late Aaron Carter, whom they dated at the same time.

Appearing on the latest episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Duff, 38, was asked point-blank if she deliberately showed up at the Freaky Friday premiere to bother Lohan, the star of the movie.

“I think absolutely yes. I was a teenager,” the Lizzie McGuire actor replied. She noted that she was invited by their mutual co-star Chad Michael Murray.

“I don’t wanna start any more stuff,” Duff said cautiously, “But, like, he was like, ‘You should come with me.’ And I was like, ‘Mhmm. Probably I should.’”

Asked whether she was surprised when Lohan returned the favor by attending the premiere of Duff’s family comedy Cheaper by the Dozen months later, the Younger alum responded: “No. I mean, that was, like, my childhood nemesis.”

Laughing, she added: “I’m sure my publicist will be like, what the f*** are you doing? But now it’s so many years later. Like, who cares? It does not matter.”

Duff revealed that she and Lohan have since made amends. “Lindsay came up to me at a club once and was like, ‘Are we good?’ and I was like, ‘We’re good.’ She was like, ‘Let’s take a shot,’” she recalled.

She further addressed the beginning of their feud, blaming the lack of social media at the time.

“There was no social media to be like, who was dating who?” Duff said. “You just take people’s word for it and then people get mad at you. I mean if you’re, like, Lindsay Lohan or me, he’s, like, probably dating both of us, like, you know what I mean?”

Earlier this month, Duff, who rose to fame in 2001 for her lead role in Disney Channel’s Lizzie McGuire series and its subsequent spinoff film, released her first album in more than 10 years.

Titled luck… or something, the new record has sparked excitement among fans, who have been eagerly waiting for Duff’s highly anticipated return to music.

She also announced she would be embarking on a world tour in support of the album. Duff will kick off her Lucky Me tour in West Palm Beach, Florida, this June before continuing on to other major U.S. cities, including New York City, Los Angeles and her hometown of Houston. She will then bring it to Europe, Australia, Canada and Mexico.
