Kyren Lacy’s mother performed a heartbreaking rendition of ‘I Will Always Love You’ over the weekend as she said goodbye to her son following his suicide.

Lacy, a former LSU wide receiver and NFL hopeful, took his own life earlier this month after crashing his vehicle during a police chase. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He had been facing felony charges negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run and reckless operation of a vehicle charges stemming from a fatal car crash in December.

And at his funeral over the weekend, Lacy’s mother, Kandace Washington, displayed incredible strength as she sang the Dolly Parton song in honor of her son.

Kandace sang for nearly five minutes, while a saxophone also briefly played a couple of minutes in.

The performance came during a ceremony that was attended by the likes of Malik Nabers and Jayden Daniels, who were teammates of the receiver’s at LSU.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly was also in attendance.

As seen in a live-stream of the service, Nabers and Daniels both brought framed No. 2 jerseys from their respective NFL teams, the Giants and Commanders, with Lacy’s name and number on it.

In another touching moment, Nabers and Daniels could be seen hugging Kandace.

Kelly also referred to Lacy as his ‘wing man’ in a touching speech.

‘I’m gonna miss having my guy next to me, because he was as emotional as I was,’ he said.

The funeral came after Lacy’s attorney wrote that the football star was completely innocent of the felony charges he was facing.

‘I just know in my heart [fellow attorney Matthew Ory] and I was gone (sic) get you outta this situation, I knew you were innocent from day 1 because I was the first person you called while the traffic was being diverted around the wreckage,’ Lacy’s attorney John M. Allen III wrote on Facebook.

Lacy is seen at his LSU graduation with his father, Kenny Lacy. The WR was just 24 years old.

‘for you internet adult a**holes he never fled the scene nor caused the wreck he was actually 3-4 cars behind the wreck,’ Allen added.

Lacy was arrested following a December 17 crash that claimed the life of 78-year-old Herman Hall.

Two days later, Lacy declared for the NFL Draft, only to become the subject of an arrest warrant in Louisiana for allegedly fleeing the scene of that accident.

Lacy’s case was set to be heard by a grand jury on April 14, less than 48 hours after he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On April 12, Lacy allegedly had an argument with a family member and fired a gun into the ground.

He fled the scene, leading officers to search for the Louisiana native. But, when cops identified the car he was driving and attempted a traffic stop, Lacy allegedly led them on a miles-long car chase that ended with another crash, this one in Spring, Texas.

Lacy was found dead in the driver’s seat, the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.
