Harry Kane was on the receiving end of some fierce challenges from a former Tottenham team-mate during their friendly against Bayern Munich on Thursday.

Kane, 32, made a return to north London with the Bundesliga champions as they romped tp a 4-0 victory over his old club at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The England captain opened the scoring for Vincent Kompany’s side before goals from Kingsley Coman, Lennart Kart and Jonah Kusi-Asare completed the rout.

While he was able to get on the scoresheet, Kane was subject to several robust challenges from ex-colleague Cristian Romero.

The Argentine defender clattered into Kane for the first time after only six minutes, as he ploughed through the back of him.

Romero, 27, was then shown a yellow card in the 41st minute of the friendly for cynically pulling Kane back as he was on the verge of springing a counter attack.

The centre-back’s rough treatment of Kane continued into the second half, as he bundled into Kane on 58 minutes after missing an attempt to go for the ball.

That saw Kane require a moment to regather himself having been sent sprawling to the turf by Romero.

The appearance of one club legend at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium follows the departure of another – as Son Heung-min joined Los Angeles FC on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old was officially unveiled by his new side earlier this week after completing a move worth over £20million – a record fee paid by an MLS club.

It was no secret that he was on his way this summer, and he was spotted in the stands during LAFC’s 2-1 win against Tigres the day before the announcement.

Speaking at his introductory press conference in Los Angeles, South Korean legend Son revealed he had to be persuaded to make the move to the United States, before a conversation led to him ‘changing his heart’ and signing an initial two-year deal.

‘They’ve been absolutely working so hard to get me here to join LAFC,’ Son said.

‘If I’m honest, it was not my first choice but John [Thorrington, LAFC general manager] was the first call when the season finished and John changed my mind.

‘He changed my heart. I’m so happy to see all the Korean fans, I was at the game and I saw you supporting like crazy and I wanted to run on the pitch and show my performance.

‘I’m here to win and I will perform.

‘I will definitely show you something exciting in… are we calling it football or soccer? I will definitely show you some exciting football, and we will have success.’
