Summary

UK registered micro and small businesses can apply for a share of up to £10 million to develop affordable, adoptable and investable innovations across five critical technologies.

Eligibility criteria

This competition is open to single applicants only.

To lead a project your organisation must

  • be a UK registered micro or small business
  • not have previously been awarded funding from Innovate UK
  • carry out its project work in the UK
  • intend to exploit the project outcomes from the UK for domestic or global benefit

Your project must

  • have total project costs and grant funding request of between £25,000 and £50,000
  • start by 1 November 2025
  • end by 30 April 2026
  • last between three and six months

Additional information

This competition aims to provide a package of targeted support to enable ambitious UK registered micro and small businesses to develop highly innovative ideas that have a clear route to commercialisation and business growth across one or more of the five critical technologies.

Your project must focus on at least one of the following critical technologies

  • Artificial intelligence
  • Semiconductors
  • Advanced connectivity technologies
  • Quantum technologies
  • Engineering biology

Applications open on 7 July and close on 6 August 2025.
