PGA Tour star Wyndham Clark left sports reporter Kay Adams stunned with his bizarre comment about his dating life.

Adams took her popular Up & Adams sports show on the road this week as she covered The Players Championship from the prestigious TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Clark, the champion of the 2023 US Open, joined the sports presenter on the show on Wednesday ahead of the tournament – one of the most important on the PGA Tour calendar – which got underway on Thursday.

However, the American raised eyebrows when he strayed from discussing the on-course action with Adams.

The host asked the three-time winner on the PGA Tour about his regular switch of drivers but Clark managed to pivot to his love life.

‘Sometimes it’s nice to have a week-long girlfriend, you know? I’m just kidding,’ he said.

Adams then smiled and gasped in shock before asking: ‘Wyndham, are you kidding?!’

To which Clark clarified: ‘Yeah, I’m kidding, I just haven’t found the right one, and when you find the right one, you lock it down.’

Adams continued the driver analogy as she added: ‘You’ve really been swiping left and right on them!’

Clark then jokingly asked: ‘We’re still talking about drivers, right?’

While Adams seemingly recovered from the shocking moment, fans on social media were left in disbelief as many interpreted the moment as Clark attempting to flirt with the reporter.

‘Wyndham taking a shot here is wilddd,’ one social media user wrote, replying to a clip of the moment on X.

Another branded it a ‘painful watch,’ while a third asked, ‘What was this? Love Island at TPC Sawgrass?’

‘What a weird interview clip,’ a fourth wrote. ‘Do you enjoy being objectified by these man-babies?’

Clark has changed drivers four times already in 2026, but claimed he has settled on one for this week’s Players Championship.

‘I’m on a TaylorMade right now,’ he explained. ‘I’m going to give a shoutout to Adrian, the fitter for TaylorMade. He did an amazing job.

‘We did a little shaft change and everything is dialed in right now.

‘I’m a free agent and sometimes it’s nice to spice things up [and switch drivers]. The honeymoon stage can be really nice.’
