A diner was allegedly stabbed with a fork and left with “irreversible injuries” during an attack by employees at restaurant near Las Vegas, according to a lawsuit.

Gary Sellinger, 59, was dining with friends at a Golden Corral restaurant in Henderson, Nevada on February 2, 2025, the court filing states.

The complaint, filed last Thursday and seen by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, states that Sellinger arrived at the restaurant with a friend at around 5 p.m. Once there, they were joined by a second friend.

However, during their meal, a manager approached their table and allegedly accused the group of diners of not paying for their meals.

The lawsuit states that Sellinger tried to tell the manager that he had a receipt proving that he had actually paid for the meals, but was asked to leave the buffet-style restaurant.

As he stood up to hand the manager his silverware, Sellinger was allegedly grabbed by the neck and slammed into a table by another employee.

In his lawsuit, Sellinger alleges that he was “pummelled, hit, kicked” and even stabbed with a fork by the restaurant employees, leaving him with “irreversible injuries.”

Keith Galliher, Sellinger’s attorney, told the Review-Journal that his client suffered a head injury during the incident.

“I’ve had him evaluated and he has a traumatic brain injury because he struck his head on the chair when he was tackled and fell to the floor,” Galliher said.

“I’ve got the photos from the hospital, I’ve got the witnesses and they confirmed, the photos confirm he was stabbed multiple times with a fork in the back,” the attorney added.

Now, Sellinger is seeking damages in excess of $15,000 in addition to attorney costs and other legal fees, according to the complaint.

Galliher told the Review-Journal that the case was reported to the Henderson Police Department.

A police spokesperson later confirmed to the newspaper that officers were called to the restaurant at around 6.08 p.m., with the incident being documented as a call for service. No report was filed, the spokesperson added.

The Independent has contacted Golden Corral, Keith Galliher and the Henderson Police Department for comment.
