Alexa Melton, the former girlfriend of United States and AC Milan soccer star Christian Pulisic, has retracted comments she made about his alleged infidelity.
Pulisic attracted negative attention when Melton confirmed their split in the comments under one of her Instagram posts.
In the comments, Melton accused Pulisic of creating a profile for himself on the dating app Raya before their relationship ended. She then threatened to post the profile to social media.
On Thursday afternoon, Melton posted a message to her Instagram story walking back the narrative.
‘I’ve made some comments on a private matter and it’s been taken out of context,’ she began.
‘I received false info. He is not a cheater. Any narrative beyond that is not mine. Out of respect for Christian’s and my privacy, I will not speak further regarding this matter.’

In 2025, Melton and Pulisic appeared in a documentary together on Paramount Plus.
Revealing how they met, he said: ‘I slid in the DMs as they call it.’
Melton added: ‘I got the DM and I was like “who is this dude with 8m followers and why is he DMing me?”
‘And then I scrolled through his Instagram and I was like “Oh he’s a big time soccer player”.’
Pulisic appeared to be smitten with Melton on the documentary and described her as ‘a really special girl’.
He continued: ‘I guess I never got to a point where I was ready for it and that’s something I’ve really changed my mentality with and also my faith and that in a lot of ways has sort of led me to her.’
Amid turmoil in his love life, Pulisic’s focus is now on this summer’s World Cup as America’s best player tries to deliver glory on home soil for the USMNT.

But Pulisic is struggling for form at the moment. He hasn’t scored an international goal since November 2024, and he’s scoreless in 12 games with AC Milan.
Back in December, multiple reports emerged online which suggested he and actress Sydney Sweeney had been dating in recent months.
But, on his Instagram Story, Pulisic shut down the rumors.
He said: ‘Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life. Need to hold sources accountable it can affect people’s lives’.
He also commented on another social media post which reported the rumor, writing: ‘Fake news guys let’s stop with the silly rumor’.
