The colourful new arrival, situated in front of the statue of Clive, marks the official launch of the Shrewsbury Spring Celebration Trail, running from March 26 until 12 April.

The trail invites families to find nine letters located in businesses around the town centre and put them together to guess the bunny’s name. You’ll have to collect all nine letters and solve the anagram to work it out!

A giant bunny has appeared in Shrewsbury town square… Guess his name and win a £50 voucher

Trail maps can be collected from Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, as well as the nine participating businesses. Trail explorers should submit the bunny’s name online via the QR code on the trail maps – three people who correctly name him will win a £50 voucher for a town centre business of their choice. Winners will be drawn at random on 14 April.

The trail is co-produced by Shrewsbury BID and Swan Hill Studios, with Shrewsbury BID installing the giant bunny and Swan Hill Studios creating the giant letters that will spell out his name.

To tie in with the trail, Swan Hill Studios is also hosting a free spring crafts day this Tuesday 31 March, 10am–4pm. Drop in anytime – the first ten through the door who know the rabbit’s name will win a small, beautiful prize.

Emma Molyneux, Project Lead at Shrewsbury BID, said:

“We think the giant bunny is fabulous and we’re thrilled by the public response already. This trail is designed to get families out exploring the town centre together, discovering brilliant businesses along the way and hopefully enjoying the spring sunshine! We hope everyone who spots the bunny in the square stops to say hello and take a picture – and that lots of you get exploring to discover their name.”

Gaia Berni, Gelatistry, added:

“We’re so glad to be part of the Spring Celebration Trail – it’s such a fun way to bring new faces through the door and gives families even more reason to explore the town. Shrewsbury is full of brilliant businesses and a trail like this is a lovely reminder of just how much there is to discover. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone who comes hunting for their letter!”

The giant bunny can be found in Shrewsbury town square from today until 12 April.
