“It’s about us working towards a solution. I know Manchester United have been speaking to Gotham FC as a potential option for Geyse to join on loan.
“It also gives her a chance to look after her wellbeing, where she is at and how she feels.
“We will find a solution that suits both parties and we will make sure during that time that Geyse is supported and has all the care she needs.”
Geyse’s agent, Luis Filipe Silva, told the Telegraph “there is no relationship whatsoever” with Skinner.
Asked for a response, Skinner said: “I want to be clear on this. I won’t be using this platform to have a conversation about that.
“It’s really clear that right now Geyse is at the centre of what we are talking about.
“The support that has been offered and has been in place is there for everyone to see.
“It’s disappointing when you hear that about yourself, but it’s clear to see from the interactions I have with almost all of my players that actually, we are there for the person and we look after the wellbeing of the player.”
Asked about other players – such as Spain midfielder Irene Guerrero, external and former captain Katie Zelem, external – reportedly being unhappy with dealings at the club, Skinner added: “I am not here to justify myself.
“I have really good relationships with my players. My door is always open if people want to have a conversation.”
