  • Gary Neville has taken a new job that has nothing to do with football
  • The Man United legend has claimed that his new role is the ‘perfect fit for me’

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has started a new job away from football as he continues to add to his business portfolio.

Neville, 50, is known for his outspoken punditry with Sky Sports and hosting the popular Stick to Football podcast.

He also owns two hotels in Manchester, has a property development company, and co-owns Salford City Football Club alongside other members of United’s Class of ’92 including Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt.

Now, he has decided to join the board of Swiss watchmaker Norqain. The brand was founded by ex-ice hockey star Mark Streit, and World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is also involved with the company.

Neville has taken on a senior role, and explained the reasons behind the move.

He said: ‘I’ve been following Norqain for some time now and really admire the brand’s values and innovative, sporty timepieces.

‘As a challenger brand in the Swiss watch industry, Norqain is a perfect fit for me, and I’m thrilled to join Ben [Kuffer, CEO] and the team as a partner in the business here in the UK and Ireland.

‘We share the same vision and challenger spirit, and I can’t wait to get started.’

Norqain CEO, Kuffer, added: ‘I’ve played and followed football all my life. Gary’s leadership and captaincy on the pitch were legendary, and he is not only a fantastic person but also an outstanding entrepreneur.’

Norqain’s watches are valued between £1,920, up to £10,900, with Buffon modelling some of them on the company’s official website.

Neville has enjoyed great success with Stick to Football, which forms part of his Overlap series.

The parent company for The Overlap, Miroma, announced a revenue of £275.6m between June 2023 and June 2024.

However, the two hotels he co-owns with Giggs – Hotel Football and The Stock Exchange Hotel – are both currently in the red.
