Arts Council NI funding programmes now open

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland is inviting applications for several funding programmes aimed at supporting the arts sector. These schemes are open to organisations and individuals working across a range of disciplines. Below is a summary of current opportunities.

Support for Individual Artists Programme – SIAP

Providing support for individual artists across all disciplines to create work and develop their practice. Awards can be for specific projects, specialised research or personal artistic development.

Submit your application by Thursday 14 August 2025.

China Artists Residency Programme

Offers Northern Ireland-based artists the opportunity to undertake a residency in China to develop their practice, build international networks, and engage in cultural exchange. Open to individual artists across all disciplines.

Artists’ International Development Fund

Supports early-stage international development opportunities for individual, freelance and self-employed artists and organisations based in Northern Ireland. It is primarily for individual artists, but small arts organisations and collaborative artist groups can also apply to take work abroad.

Small Capital Grants Programme

Supports the purchase of equipment and minor works to improve arts delivery and accessibility. Organisations of all types can apply, including charities, community groups, and consortia, as long as the equipment or minor works requested clearly support the arts and benefit the wider public.

Submit your application by Thursday 28 August 2025.

Rural Engagement Arts Programme

Provides grants to support arts projects in rural communities that tackle isolation, promote social inclusion, and improve wellbeing. Open to a wide range of organisations, including charities, arts organisations, and consortia, for projects lasting up to one year.

Submit your application by Thursday 25 September 2025.

All applications must be submitted online via the Arts Council NI website. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Applicants are advised to read all guidance notes carefully before applying.
