Get up to £250,000 to scale your diet or exercise innovation

Innovate UK has opened a Contracts for Innovation competition to provide up to £1.8 million in funding for social enterprises looking to scale community-based diet and/or exercise initiatives.

This competition is open to eligible organisations with an existing innovation in diet or exercise that requires testing in real-world environments. Funding will go towards further development, testing, and research and development (R&D) of the solutions.

Applicants must demonstrate a clear path to market and scalability, with the goal of expanding by at least 25%. Funding of up to £250,000 (inclusive of VAT) is available for projects lasting up to 12 months.

To apply, your project should

  • have a solid plan for scaling
  • show that you already have at least one customer and plan to grow
  • focus on addressing social challenges and making a positive impact
  • be ready for testing in real-world settings

Applications close at 11am on 18 June 2025.

Potential applicants can join a briefing event at 11am on 23 May 2025.

For more details and to apply, visit Innovate UK’s website.
