Emerging opportunities at the frontier of artificial intelligence (AI) development
Digital Catapult and Innovate UK will host ‘The frontier AI landscape Unlocking next-generation opportunities for the UK’ online on Wednesday 12 February 2026, 11am to 1215pm.
The webinar will explore emerging opportunities at the frontier of AI development, including pathways for funding programmes. Designed to foster collaboration, this session will help participants share ambitions, build relationships, and begin shaping ideas that could evolve into competitive consortia funding bids.
Experts from Oxford Internet Institute, Henry Royce Institute, Faculty.ai and Charisma.ai will cover
- AI trends over the next three to five years
- frontier AI opportunities
- scaling challenges
- UK funding options
The event is designed for organisations developing their own AI tools and datasets, rather than those simply adopting existing tools such as ChatGPT.
Further opportunities for participants
After the webinar, selected attendees already working with frontier AI may be invited to take part in in-person workshops and focus groups.
These further sessions will focus on areas of strategic importance where there are strong opportunities to build new AI capabilities, and will be delivered in partnership with fellow Catapults, industry experts, research organisations, and academics. The themes are
