Baseball fans were left bemused after Fox Sports suffered an embarrassing technical glitch just moments before Game 1 of the MLB World Series.
The network has been the exclusive broadcaster for the series in the United States since 2000 and have rarely encountered a technical error during that time.
However, that all changed on Friday night. Shortly before the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays began the action, Fox encountered a bizarre camera glitch.
As Joe Davies delivered a pre-game monologue, Fox’s cameras began rapidly zooming in and out in a peculiar incident which certainly did not go unnoticed.
During the technological mishap, Davies welcomed MLB Hall of Famer John Smoltz into the shot – however both men were out of frame due to the camera glitch.
Fans quickly rushed to social media to discuss the moment, with one writing: ‘What the heck happened to the camera in Fox’s booth?’.

In response to that post, another joked: ‘Pretty impressive that the camera operator was able to continue working while being attacked by an army of hornets’.
‘Did FOX just have a camera glitch in the booth? That was odd,’ one fan queried.
Another said: ‘The Fox camera was so mesmerized by Joe Davis’ impeccable monologue that the zoom went out of control’.
In the game itself, the Blue Jays put in a stunning performance to win 11-4 and take an early lead in the series.
During the game, Toronto star Addison Barger became the first person to hit a pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history.
