- Young family can finally celebrate after toughest time of their lives
Cronulla Sharks centre Jesse Ramien has tied the knot with fiancée Shell Gibbs in a stunning outdoor ceremony – almost a year after the couple endured one of the toughest moments of their lives when their son Teo was born prematurely in Bali.
The pair exchanged vows on October 17, surrounded by family and friends, against the backdrop of a lush hillside and calm waters that created a serene and romantic setting.
Her hair fell in loose, flowing waves that matched the timeless simplicity of her gown.
Ramien opted for a classic black tuxedo with satin lapels and a black bow tie, complemented by a white rose boutonnière with greenery.
The pair looked every bit the picture of elegance, with their outfits perfectly in harmony against the natural landscape of greenery, water views, and distant tree-covered hills.
‘Absolutely beautiful. Congratulations to you both,’ one follower posted.

It was a happy ending after a highly stressful 2024 that found the young family trapped in Bali.
Last October, the couple had travelled to Bali for teammate Briton Nikora’s wedding when Shell went into premature labour at just 32 weeks.
She was rushed into emergency surgery, and their baby Teo was delivered via C-section six to eight weeks early.
In a frightening turn, Teo had to be resuscitated for five minutes before being placed in neonatal intensive care.
With support from Sharks teammates and friends, the family secured documents and a care flight home with NETS (Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service).
A GoFundMe launched by Shavaun Hunt, the partner of Ramien’s teammate Royce Hunt, raised close to $60,000. Donations came from across the rugby league community, including players from rival clubs.
Speaking about the ordeal earlier this year, Ramien described Shell as a ‘super mum,’ praising her strength and courage in the most difficult of circumstances.

Shell stunned in a sleek, white satin gown with a minimalist design, featuring spaghetti straps and a softly draped neckline.
Now back in Australia and with Teo thriving, the wedding marked a joyful new chapter for the young family. Ramien said the experience in Bali had reinforced how quickly life’s priorities shift, and how important family support is in the toughest of times.
‘Family is everything for me,’ he said.
‘You never want to go through something like that, but it shows you who you can lean on. We were lucky to have great people in our lives when it mattered most.’
