An Australian football fan has been labelled a ‘hero’ by social media users for shutting down a racially charged line of questions from a right-wing influencer.
The unnamed Aussie man stopped for an interview with X user and internet vlogger @chaotichermes following Manchester City’s 5-1 victory against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
The man, who stated he was from Sydney, explained that he had been living in the UK for two months as he was asked multiple bizarre questions by @chaotichermes.
‘Hermes’, an American, is currently documenting what he calls his ‘Save Europe Tour’. He has been travelling around major cities in Europe, interviewing members of the public on topics relating to immigration, crime and race.
The internet personality has 87,800 followers on X as well as another 44,200 subscribers on YouTube.
A video of the interview has since been published on X and has been watched by over eight million people, with many social media users criticising the interviewer for asking racially charged questions, while others praised the Australian man for his responses.

‘Would you rather have an all black national soccer team that wins or an all-white English national team that loses,’ the interviewer asked the Australian man.
The pair were seen standing down the street from the Etihad Stadium, with the interviewer also seen wearing a Man City home shirt.
The Australian man responded: ‘Uh… I mean, as an Aussie, it is what it is. You get the win you get the win. It ain’t about colour boys, it ain’t about colour.’
‘It’s all about getting the win,’ he added.
The interviewer then posed another question to the man.
‘Do you think a black guy can be English?’ @chaotichermes asked again.
The Australian replied: ‘Of course, mate. I’ve only been here two months and like, most English fellas I’ve met, they’re black, they’re good boys. It is what it is.’
The interviewer then asked another question: ‘What about Indians? Can an Indian become an Australian?’

The man responded: ‘Yeah of course. We’ve got heaps, mate, you ever been to Sydney.
‘Look, at the end of the day, this is my analogy: If you’re a good **** then you’re a good ****. If you’re a s*** * then you’re a s ****.
‘It doesn’t matter about skin tone, mate.’

‘I’m genuinely incensed at the questions being asked here. I’m also very pleased that as usual, the Aussies get it,’ one X user wrote. ‘Good lad, good moustache.’
‘This guy’s brain is mush. What the hell are you even asking?’ one added.
‘What the f*** sort of question is that?’ another said. ‘He’s made you look like a right k**b,’ another said

Aussie journalist Martin Flanagan also hailed the interviewee.
‘This fella is an Australian hero. He has just articulated our national ethic,’ Flanagan said.
