A furious Maryland fire captain sprayed ‘gallons of water’ onto a high school baseball field in a revenge-fueled rampage.

The officer was left enraged when a ball flew over a net and struck his pick-up truck, which was parked in a lot across the field.

The damage caused to the field at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring that the local Thunderbolts team had to cancel their game.

During pre-game practice, a ball flew over a fence and net in left field and damaged the truck parked outside Silver Spring Fire Station 16.

The incident was caught on camera and footage shows players stood watching as their field gets flooded.

‘One of our players heard someone from the firehouse say, ‘Hey, watch out. We don’t want you to get wet’,’ said Aidan Driscoll, an outfielder with the Thunderbolts.

‘And he said, ‘I’m going to shoot the water onto the field.’ Probably two minutes later, all we saw was [a massive stream of water] basically just shooting directly onto center field.’

To make matters worse, the field had been battered by wet weather throughout the week and they hadn’t been able to play.

‘There are nine other leagues who play here, and we’re not the only ones that hit home runs,’ said Dick O’Connor, the founder and director of the Thunderbolts.

‘Personnel from the fire department have been told consistently by park staff that that is a dangerous area to park and leave your vehicle.

I went [to the fire station] and talked to the captain, and he admitted that he did it and he said he wanted to get our attention.’

‘We want to express our sincere apologies to the players, teams, Cal Ripken League, and all fans and families impacted by this disruption,’ the department said in a statement Friday.

‘We understand how important this venue is to the community and especially to the young athletes who look forward to these events.

‘While the fire station and ballfield have long shared this space as neighbors, we recognized that incidents like this can have a real impact — and we take that seriously.’
