- Misery for Mourinho as wasteful Turks suffer on the counter-attack
Rangers produced a brilliant team performance to take a 3-1 lead to Ibrox next week over Fenerbahce. Who impressed the most for Barry Ferguson’s side in their dismantling of Jose Mourinho’s men?
RANGERS (3-4-2-1):
JACK BUTLAND: 7 – Fine save to deny Dzeko but wiped out Propper moments later when out of his box. More assured after the interval.
JAMES TAVERNIER: 7.5 – Skipper played well as a right centre-back and tried to get forward on occasion, too. Stayed disciplined throughout.
JOHN SOUTTAR: 8 – Made two big blocks before half-time. Put his body on the line when it mattered most. A huge presence for Rangers. Booked.
ROBIN PROPPER: 5.5 – Dutchman started okay in the surprise back three but was taken off after big clash of heads with Butland.
RIDVAN YILMAZ: 6 – Mistake before half-time went unpunished and was a little uncomfortable out on the right. Stuck to his task well.

Alexander Dijku hooked home at the back post for Fenerbahce’s only goal of the night
CONNOR BARRON: 7 – Out since mid-January but got the nod in holding midfield and performed well. Tenacious in the tackle and worked hard.
NICOLAS RASKIN: 7.5 – Won a vital 50-50 tackle that sparked the counter for second goal. Sensed the danger well and broke forward effectively.
JEFTE: 6 – Tireless down the left side and dangerous outlet when flying forward but defensive instincts still leave a lot to be desired.
VACLAV CERNY: 9 – Played his part in opener and magnificent link-up with Dessers to score the second. Classy finish for the third. Man of the match.
MOHAMMED DIOMANDE: 6.5 – Initial press led to early goal. Another to break forward and read the danger well. Faded out of it around the hour-mark.
CYRIEL DESSERS: 8 – Scored one and had two ruled out for very tight offside calls. Superb assist for the second and was a constant threat.
SUBSTITUTES: Balogun (Propper 29), Hagi (Diomande 76), Sterling (Yilmaz 76), Igamane (Dessers 88), Lawrence (Cerny 88).
MANAGER: BARRY FERGUSON: 8.5 – Wanted his side to stand up and be counted. They duly delivered. Plan to hit Fenerbahce on the break worked wonders.

FENERBAHCE (3-4-1-2): Egribayat 4; Soyuncu 5 (Djiku 16), Skriniar 3, Akcicek 3 (Talisca 46); Muldur 4 (Kahveci 79), Szymanski 4 (Saint-Maximin 54), Amrabat 4, Kostic 6; Tadic 5, En-Neysri 5, Dzeko 4. Booked: Talisca. Manager: Jose Mourinho – 3.
REFEREE: ALEJANDRO HERNANDEZ (Spa) – 7.
